Meet Sarah
Sarah Dobbs has worked as a curator, artist mentor and career consultant, advising individual and corporate art collectors for over 25 years. Her experience ranges from working with public art galleries to commercial art galleries. Galleries include, the Irish Museum of Modern Art, at the National Gallery of Ireland, Burnaby Art Gallery and Evergreen Cultural Centre. Sarah has also acted as a public art advisor with the Cities of Vancouver, Coquitlam, Burnaby and Whistler, and as Corporate Cultural Advisor. She has owned and operated several private galleries where she has curated and run specialized award-winning art programs.
She holds degrees in Art History from University of BC and a Masters from University of Toronto with a focus curatorial practice and using the arts in peacebuiding. Sarah has curated over 200 exhibitions, collaborating with artists and architects in Canada, Ireland and England.
Sarah believes there is an exchange of emotion between the viewer and an image that is silent and subtle: this is what the artist and curator must be aware of and be able to communicate; this is what drives a collector to purchase.
